2006 Newtown Flicks Film Festival
In short
The Newtown Flicks Film Festival is an annual event aimed at encouraging aspiring filmmakers to take part in the industry.
The 2006 Inaugural Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival invited submissions from all Sydney filmmakers. Held over 15-17 April, the festival featured a showcase screening of short-listed entries and talks by prominent film industry personalities.
The festival offered many opportunities to network and gain advice from people with the know-how on all aspects of filmmaking including equipment, software and technological developments to directing, writing and producing.

How the festival was organised
Each of the short features submitted was assessed to make sure that it met the requirements and satisfied our entry criteria. From there, the works were viewed, judged and programmed for exhibition across the long weekend in April. On the final night of the festival awards were given in various categories.
