2007 Newtown Flicks Film Festival - News Archive
Submission Deadline Extended to 16 February!

Prize Categories
This years festival will feature cash prizes in four categories:
The Open Category - $1000
This is for films shot by individuals, production companies, funded/unfunded and anything not shot as part of a film course. Decided by a panel of judges.
Film School - $1000
This category is for student works made as part of film study. Decided by a panel of judges.
Treehouse - $1000
Treehouse is an award specifically for Short Films shot for young children. This one is open to all. Yep, you guessed it. Judges.
Director's Choice - $1000
This one's open to all entries and will be decided by the Director's of Newtown Flicks and will look to reward work that slips through all categories, we believe shows potential for greater things or simply, that we enjoyed watching it.
Matinee on Bray
Films submitted to the 2007 Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival will be part of Matinee on Bray, our monthly screenings of short films.
Newtown Flicks offers artists and filmmakers continuing opportunities to screen their work. Matinee on Bray, is a monthly event dedicated to promoting the exciting new work of aspiring artists.
All films submitted to the Newtown Flicks Film Festivals are given extra screenings at Matinee on Bray throughout the year. But we are always open to new submissions and we embrace all forms of new media.
Treehouse Flicks
The 2007 Festival will also see the launch of Treehouse Flicks, a program of short films specifically for kids of all ages. Treehouse Flicks aims to promote Australian content and identity by showcasing local film makers to new audiences and the industry alike. These shorts will be shown during afternoon sessions that will be open to all ages.
