The 2006 Festival saw seventy five films screened across a three day weekend in April. We had live action, we had animation, we had documentaries ... and everything in between!
And now we're back for more in a new venue but still aiming to fill a weekend with short films, music and maybe even a talk or two about all things filmic.
Across two and half days, the 2007 Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival will be screening new submissions with the only criteria being the films need to be shorter than twenty minutes. And if we can't fit it in during the weekend, it'll be part of Matinee on Bray, our monthly screenings of short films.
The 2007 Festival will also see the launch of Treehouse Flicks, a program of short films specifically for kids of all ages. Treehouse Flicks aims to promote Australian content and identity by showcasing local film makers to new audiences and the industry alike.
Sent it to another festival? Made it over twelve months ago? Or maybe you couldn't fit an umbrella in it. It doesn't matter to us. This is your chance to see your stuff on a big screen at Newtown Theatre.
And once more, we will be offering prizes in different categories, so keep an eye out as these details are announced in the coming months.
