It only seems like yesterday that we had people streaming through the theatre, a cold Little Creatures cider in hand, crumpler bag filled with the JVC camera they'd just won...We had such a good time, we thought we'd do it again.
What is the Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival
The Newtown Flicks Festival is based in the Inner West of Sydney with the aim of supporting, assisting and showcasing Australian film makers by providing a venue for their films to be shown, not only to new audiences, but also to their peers.
The 2009 Festival will take place over the weekend 22nd, 23rd and 24th of May and will include awards night, cash prizes, giveaways and the sequel to this year's Audience Revenge, The Audience Bites Back, where you get to choose the winner.
How to Enter
Trigger finger feeling a bit itchy? Missing the feel of the camera grip? Actually know what AVCHD actually means? Then this is your chance to make something to show at Newtown Flicks. Already got one in the can? Already shown at another festival? No worries, the only criteria for entries is that they be less than twenty minutes long, and even then, give us a call and we may be able to work something out.
First, download the entry form and classifications synopsis, follow the instructions and make sure it gets to us before February 27, 2009.
