Once again, Newtown Flicks is proud to announce that as part of the 2008 Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival we will be screening a program of short films for the young ones among us. These shorts will be shown during afternoon sessions that will be open to all ages.
Filmmakers, if you want to be a part of this initiative to promote and showcase Australian made content to kids of all ages, then simply complete the entry forms for the 2009 Newtown Flicks Short Film Festival, nominating Treehouse as the entry category. Once entered, you will also be eligible for festival awards and prizes, including a cash prize of $1000 for the best G-rated short film entered for Treehouse.
Treehouse Flicks provides an opportunity for kids to see films made outside of the mainstream, stories that are Australian and reflect our cultural experiences. Treehouse Flicks aims to provide content that will attract families to uniquely Australian works and thus support up and coming Australian filmmaking talent.
